Key Skills
• A well balanced team member with developed leadership skills
• A desire to achieve expertise
• A natural aptitude for learning new skills
• Highly motivated and work well under pressure

Education
Oct 2007 – June 2010 BSc Geophysics
School of Ocean & Earth Science
University of Southampton
• Courses examined include: Applied & Marine Geophysics, (Topics included Seismic/Gravity/Magnetic data acquisition and processing), Exploration Geophysics, Seafloor Exploration & Surveying (Topics included Marine data acquisition {Equipment & data} and Interpreting seafloor bathymetry, sonar imagery and geotechnical information, Geodynamics & Solid Earth Geophysics (Topics included Seismology, Heat Flow, Geo/Paleo-magnetism, with focus on plate motions), Physical Oceanography, Structural Geology, Dynamic Earth (Topics included Stratigraphy, Plate Tectonics & Basin Formation), Remote Sensing & GIS.
• I attained a 2:1 on my dissertation which consisted of 9 months of ambient seismic noise obtained by 9 sea floor seismic stations. By cross-correlating each station pair to extract the Green’s Function, I was able to examine the different sources of ambient seismic noise at the ocean bottom. This also included creating dispersion curves.
• I have undertaken several geological mapping field courses in areas such as Dorset, Ingleton, Tenby and Brittany.
• I have also been examined in several applied Maths and Physics modules including Quantum Physics, Motion & Relativity and ‘Waves, Light and Quanta’.
• My computing experience includes;
-Unix/Linux systems
-Microsoft Windows software such as Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher etc).
-Mapping software such as ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine.
-Generic Mapping Tools software.
-In a Computational Data Analysis module I gained experience in Matlab which is the primary software used in my dissertation.
-I have also had experience with ProMAX and C-MAX Side-scan software.

Relevant Work Experience
Summer 2009: Side-scan Sonar Survey.
I was part of a private team put together to survey an area off the coast of Scotland to locate wreckage believed to be there from World War II. So as to be proficient in my role on this survey I received training by members of the C-MAX team in their Side-scan sonar equipment and software package.

Interests
I am a very active person and enjoy a variety of physical activities. I very much enjoy playing Squash and Football at a competitive level. I am also very fond of Cycling as it is my main mode of transport. I have a passion for Muay Thai which I actively train in (I have also competed in tournaments) and I regularly attend the Gym.
